Rog's Reatreat guest comments:
We have enjoyed a weekly CSA from the Stockhouse's for two years and can’t wait for our third!
Looking forward to bringing my son so that he can enjoy the farm also.
Another very happy Thanksgiving! Already looking forward to our next stay.
A CSA is like getting a present every Friday. I don't know what will be in the bag so it is a surprise to see what yummy foods we will eat the next week. You can go home, open your surprise and plan your meals for the week--with help because there are delicious recipes also!
The garden with its rich soil, care and drip irrigation system and variety of root crops, lettuces and cole crops was the most beautifully engineered and tended I've ever seen.
Thanks again for another wonderful stay. The cabin is our favorite place to stay. The farm is so interesting with its healthy plantings, the fowl, the cats and the occasional deer or two.
When I sit on the porch of this retreat, I am 12 again…
We figured out what to do with foods (from our CSA) we wouldn’t have purchased and learned to love them. New recipes gave us a fresh look at dinner. Every Wednesday we can count on having a full refrigerator of fresh healthy produce for the week. I can’t wait for this year’s bounty to arrive.
Your retreat was all and more than I envisioned, from the Farmer's Market where we got our dinner of salmon chowder and salad makings, to the hedge of fragrant roses, to the show off turkey…
What a wonderful find! Thank you for all the details. We will be back.

Our only regret is that we didn't have more time with you.

What enchantment lies beyond the vegetables...beyond the gingko and filberts, beyond the quince, behind the flourishing rugosa roses...a cottage so entrancing and homey...
-Mo and Mandy
A surprise birthday adventure brought us here to the farm. What a wonderful escape! And the joy of being in the middle of veggie garden abundance, chickens clucking and crowing, gorgeous flowers and trees with a perfect little cabin home....
-Annie and Cheryl

Rog's Retreat was certainly exactly that for me. Sunshine, good food, weeding in the garden, feeding the goats...reading and sleeping. Thank you for a most restful and beautiful place to stay for an entire week.
Happy New Year! You thought of everything! I’ll be back!

Escaping the crazies of the city with those dreaded noisy firecrackers was my foremost goal, I had the added joyful farm noises to soothe the nerves.

What a fabulous ‘blast’ from the past! Cathlamet’s Bald Eagle Days events transported us to the 1950’s again.

Thank you for giving my children a glimpse of some of my farm memories when I was a girl. The retreat was perfect, not a detail overlooked for our comfort. Next visit, let the Friday Farm Market ‘pie lady’ know she’ll have a big sale from us!
